Firewire Surfboard Construction
Sam Lamiroy UK professional surfer and Firewire team Rider has spent some time over the last few years with the guys at Firewire over in the States. Chuy Reyna an ex pro surfer who is heavily involved with all the R&D behind these boards has taught Sam all he knows about each construction and design. We managed to track Sam down between surfs to give us this fantastic description about the boards.
Sam’s range of boards includes an alternator and dominator amongst others.
The video covers all the Firewire Technologies available, FST (FUTURE SHAPES TECHNOLOGY), Rapidfire (Bamboo lamination) and Direct Drive (Solid Carbon rod core).

Rusty Dwart Surfboard
The Rusty Dwart is the latest board to come from one of the worlds best shapers. Rusty Preisendorfer has created a gem of a board. The board has been design around a higher volume which allows you to ride a smaller board. As you can see from the video this is a small wave, with not large amounts of power yet the volume in this shape allows you to glide through turns and ride the wave to its full effect. From our range this where a waterskate meets a dominator.
The 5 fin box system allows you to mix and match fin placements to suit the conditions or just because you simply want to try a different style. Go rigid with all 5 twins, use it as a thruster or a twinny the possibilities are endless with this board. We think its going to be hugely popular.

Recently reading a copy of Surf Europe -
Really enjoying this mag at the moment – as it is pretty focused on the European scene as the name would suggest not spots all over the globe in blue waters.
Interestingly we all know many of the big wave spots across the planet – but with the crazy weather systems that we have had over the past 6 months in Europe there have been spots across Spain, France, Portugal and Ireland absolutely firing and these are all being put forward for the XXL 2009 nominations.
The Billabong Surf XXL event continues to show some great footage of some huge waves scored around the world! Enjoy.

Is a board a piece of art, scuplture or does it not matter. Shapers are very precise and anal about what they are creating, each one is like a new friend to them, it has to be right. Wave.

Clouds Everywhere!
The great British summer appears to be continuing with a vengence today. More rain and grey clouds cover our shores.
As Brits and surfers we dont mind these weather conditions as this tends to bring waves – Which is all important.
With so many clouds in the air only 1 YT video came to mind. Kelly Slaters all new Cloud 9 DVD preview. A documentary of the legendary surfers 9th world title. Unfortunately the sea is not this blue around the UK but the waves can be as good!
Despite the weather at the moment the swells are rocking in and we are seeing more and more surfboards heading out the warehouse as scores of people prepare for the boardmasters event which takes place in a couple of weeks time – or they head off on there summer holidays.
