O’Neill Psychofreak Wetsuit & SIMA Award

O’Neill introduced the revolutionary Psychofreak with XDS-Air neoprene in fall 2008. “As the original wetsuit manufacturer it is our blood to push the evolution of the wetsuit,” stated John Hunter, Senior Product Designer at O’Neill Wetsuits. Unlike traditional cold water wetsuits that utilize thicker neoprene, the Psychofreak with O’Neill’s unique XDS-Air neoprene, a complex 3D structure of rubber and trapped air components, provides increased insulation similar to a double paned window without additional thickness or restriction. “The ultimate goal in designing wetsuits is to make them as warm and flexible as possible; we obviously achieved that with the Psychofreak.”
The award is voted for by fellow surf manufacturers so it is a great achievement! Well done O’Neill wetsuits.
Electric Visual Wins Sima Award
Electric Visual – (Four eyed freaks) has just won Accessory product of the year for there iphone application.
Electric was the first company in the action sports industry to produce and create a company specific app for the iphone.
Congratulations to all the team at Electric Visual for winning the beautiful and coverted wooden trophy.

Quicksilver Pro France – ASP
The Quicksilver Pro 2009 part of the dream tour has just finished.
The event supported by Orange held at the famous Seignosse, Hossegor surf spot – produced some good waves.
Congratulations to Mick Fanning for taking the victory. The win takes Fanning into second and much closer to current tour leader, Joel Parkinson. Fanning who has already won the ASP in 2007 is definately fired up for another tour win and it is now well within his reach and he knows it. Parko is definately going to need to step up his game if he wants to finish out in front. Fannings win at the Trestles Hurley pro and now the Quicksilver pro shows his ability to win again and with 3 events left this really could go down to the wire.

As the season continues we are starting to see the dominance of the Australian surfers. Mick won the final heat against fellow Australian Bede Durbridge. Parko and fellow Australian and tour leader suffered at the feet of Local ripper Patrick Bevan. Overall a great event,

FCS & The Hurley Pro Trestles 2009
The Hurley Pro held at Trestles has just finished. Congratulation to event winner Mick Fanning. The event had the largest prize fund of any surf event, with over $100,000 dollars up for grabs. Congratulations must also go out to Dane Reynolds for making it to his first ASP final. The Hurley event has proved that surfing is as popular as it has ever been with large prize pockets and some great surfing action.
We have been really enjoying the FCS presents video. FCS are the most used and recognised surf board fin system around the world, FCS have put together a day by day breakdown of what the pros ride on what day and why.
